Research Areas

I have published, or am currently working on, several papers and projects exploring: activists' strategies in response to state repression; how protest policing has changed over time (multiple articles); the impact of Black Lives Matter mobilization on police reform; how police respond to police brutality protests; predictors of counterdemonstrator mobilization; the relationship between trust and protest participation in varied national contexts; the role of social media in mobilizing protest in response to repression;and the diffusion of legal consciousness surrounding family responsibilities discrimination.
